⦁ Ein Volksfeind
Hamburger Schauspielhaus, 2008
Scenography
While the play Ein Volksfeind (An Enemy of the People) by Henrik Ibsen uncovers pollution and treachery in a town that identifies as a health spa, the stage ground is literally pulled away underneath the feet of the actors during the performance of the piece presented here.
Central element of the stage design is a carpet on which the domestic furniture stands at the beginning of the show. Pulled together, it transforms into a big pouch that is lifted upwards, taking the rest of the set with it.
