The Residenz is a venue of Schauspiel Leipzig that is exclusively available to freely produced projects. The focus here is on collective working processes, on narratives beyond literary models and on stage languages that are inextricably linked to the act of performance. The residency is a laboratory for experimental theatre forms, a production unit for open processes and a network node that links up with international co-production contexts.

Our spatial design reflects all the related modes of being in the Residenz: A Foyer for welcoming audience, a work and social area for the producing artists and a meeting place for both groups for discussions and celebrations.
