The Tanzkongress was a five-day gathering of 500 artists, writers and researchers. The congress was hosted by the Festspielhaus Hellerau, an iconic and monumental modernist building. I created the spatial concept to contrast, complement and contextualise the white, chromophobic, cubic architecture with ornaments, raw materials and non-rectangular forms. A centrepiece of the rooms was a 54-piece modular table and tribune system, which was transformed through rearrangements by technicians and participants over the course of the event and thus structured the gatherings in the big hall in many different ways.
